LOLITA + ERIC | ALASKA WEDDING AT THE YACHT CLUB | DESTINATION WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER

Lolita and Eric’s wedding took place at the the Yacht Club in Juneau, Alaska oppand it was a weekend I won’t soon forget. The weekend was a wedding I was excited to capture because after talking with Lolita and watching their love grow from afar I could see they incapsulated this fairytale love that we all dream about. I went to school with Eric and played basketball with him in middle school, but I knew very little of Lolita. We actually met for the very first time after she had booked me for their wedding videography when I was filming another wedding where we had mutual friends. Seriously, Eric and Lolita were little rays of sunshine watching them tear it up on the dance floor together.

Lolita and Eric’s love story is another unique love story. They met at a mutual friends party where a group of them were planning for 4th of July festivities. They were thinking about renting a cabin so Eric and Lolita decided to make a bet of who would be right about the cost for the rental cabin. Rumor has it, Eric still owe’s Lolita $10 for it to this day :). They didn’t have a real first date when they started dating. Their relationship blossomed from casually talking and hanging out with other mutual friends. After 6 months they went to the theater like all teenagers and watched the Lorax and Hunger Games together. On the night of September 10th, 2011 Eric finally asked Lolita to officially be his girlfriend! Since then they’ve been enjoying late night beach walks on cold nights, spreading their toes in the sand while they laid down besides each other talking about life and everything in between while gazing up at the stars. They also have been enjoying date night staycations and eating all the good food in town filling their bellies with food, love and laughter.

After years of dating and growing family, they took their next step. They had already been talking about marriage, but Lolita didn’t know when and if it would truly happen. On their 11th year anniversary as Lolita was preparing dinner for the family, Eric walked in with their 7 month old son son in his arm and proposed right then and there. Lolita was taken completely by surprise and they were both overwhelmed with happiness to officially start planning their lives as the Sele Family. I love that their love story came full circle on this special day.

Lolita and Eric are the definition of a forever young, carefree and passionate love that continues to grow as each day passes. They are everything the type of couple I hope for when I film couples. I wish for laughter, and joy, a love for the outdoors, and a down-to-earth bride and groom with big hearts for the people in their lives. This was Lolita and Eric to a T!

The day started at the Jorgensen House in the suite where hair and make-up was done, the guys hung out at a friends getting ready, and the girls had a enjoyed champagne and laughs together. Lolita was surrounded with so much love from her closest girl friends. The morning went so flawlessly and smoothly.

After hair and make-up, Lolita slipped into her dress and she was jaw-dropping and she was glowing with eyes sparkling. She has an unbelievable heart and is an amazing mother. I find myself in awe of how positive and caring she is. This became so apparent when she was surrounded by her bridesmaids as they all were just so excited to be a part of the day.

Then comes the groomsmen. I had such a blast with them when they arrived on the property. They were rambunctious, full of energy and excitement to celebrate Eric finally tying the knot. He was surrounded with laughter and fun day relaxing and allowing each moment unfold naturally and I can’t imagine a more perfect wedding day.

Before the ceremony started, Lolita and Eric share a first touch where the a covered glass door stood between them. After their first touch, we made our way to the top of Blueberry Hill enjoying some private time together overlooking the Gastineau Channel from above getting their couples session out of the way so they could enjoy every minute with their family and friends after the ceremony. The ceremony and reception overlooked the the Gastineau Channel on a perfectly overcast day. They read their own vows and had a seats and a table for their loved ones who are no longer with us to pay tribute to them. Both of their sons’ made their way down the aisle one even rode down in a white mini Range Rover! Safe to say nobody was hurt during his little joy ride lol.

After the ceremony we took family and wedding party photos and then it was time for a few more bride and groom portraits on the channel!! Unfortunately, since we were right under an airspace, weren’t able to capture some epic drone shots, buuuuuut the view was epic none the less! I love the outdoors and the water so this was absolutely perfect. After we wrapped up with some portraits on the property and then went back inside the Yacht Club to get the party started!! The wedding party had the best entrances I’ve ever seen handing out shooters to guests and the dance floor was hopping all night. We ended the night with a little sparkler exit and continue dancing the night way.
